ZEENAT · TRUST & TRANSPARENCY
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Zeenat handles information when you use our mobile app, website, business discovery, service requests, marketplace and community features.
Who we are and how to contact us
Zeenat is a platform for discovering independent businesses, requesting services, sharing content and connecting with other users in Pakistan. This service is provided under the name Zeenat. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@zeenat.app.
Account and profile information
When you create or manage an account, we process information such as your name, email address, phone and WhatsApp numbers, password credentials and profile picture. One login may have customer and business profiles. Business information may include a trading name, description, contact details, address, services, prices, portfolio, opening information and business-review status. We use this information to operate accounts, authenticate access, communicate with you and provide the features you choose.
Service requests, measurements and activity
We process the details you submit in service requests, including requested services, dates, addresses, notes, reference images and request status. If you use measurement features, we store the measurement profiles and values you provide and share attached measurements with the business handling the relevant request. Favorites, reviews, ratings, marketplace listings, community posts, comments and related interactions are processed to provide those features. Do not submit sensitive information or another person’s information unless it is necessary and you have authority to do so.
Location information
With your device permission, Zeenat accesses location while you use the app to find nearby businesses, show distances and help select an address or business location. Coordinates or address searches may be sent to our servers and mapping or geocoding providers to provide these functions. Addresses you choose to save or submit with a request are stored for that purpose; business locations may be publicly displayed. You can change location access in your device settings and use manual address entry where available. These features do not require continuous background location tracking.
Photos, videos and public content
We process the photos and videos you select and upload, for example for your profile, a portfolio, a listing, a review or a service request. Content posted to public areas, together with associated profile information, can be seen and copied by others. Information sent in a service request is made available to the relevant participants rather than posted as a public listing. Check images and text for personal details before sharing them; do not publish identity documents, payment credentials or someone else’s private information.
Device information, notifications and security
We process an installation identifier, push notification token, operating-system platform and app version to register your device and deliver notifications. Expo Push Service and its underlying Apple and Google delivery services process notification information. You can disable notifications in device settings. Our infrastructure also processes technical information such as IP addresses, request timestamps and error or security logs to deliver the service, investigate faults, prevent abuse and protect accounts. Authentication credentials and local app settings are stored on your device as needed for sign-in and operation.
How we use and share information
We use information to provide and maintain Zeenat, connect customers and businesses, respond to support requests, moderate content, investigate misuse, improve reliability and comply with applicable obligations. Relevant contact and request details are shared with the people or businesses you choose to interact with. Public business profiles, listings, reviews and community content are visible to their intended audience. Access by administrators is for service operation, support and moderation. We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents or protect legal rights, subject to applicable law.
Service providers and external services
We use providers for hosting, database and media storage, email, mapping and geocoding, and push notification delivery. These include Expo, Apple and Google for notification delivery and Mapbox for map-related features. Providers receive the information necessary for their functions. Opening WhatsApp, a phone link or another external service takes you to that provider, whose own terms and privacy practices apply. Our current infrastructure includes Oracle-hosted servers and object storage for application data and uploaded media, and email services used for account communications and support. We share information with providers for the functions described in this policy.
Storage, security and international processing
Information may be processed in Pakistan and in countries where our infrastructure and service providers operate. We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the service to restrict unauthorized access and protect data. No internet service or storage system is completely secure. Keep your password confidential and contact support@zeenat.app if you suspect misuse.
Retention, account deletion and deactivation
While your account is active, we retain the information needed to provide the features you use. If you close or deactivate your account, we retain your name, email address and phone number to identify you if you later register using the same details and associate you with your previous account record rather than create a new account entity. These identifiers are retained for account continuity without a fixed expiry period; this is not complete erasure of your personal information. Reusing an account record does not necessarily restore other profile information or content. To request permanent deletion, ask about the information retained, or object to this account-continuity retention, contact support@zeenat.app from the email associated with your account. We may request proportionate verification before acting; never send your password or one-time codes. We will explain the handling of your request and any information that must be retained for applicable legal obligations, security or a specific dispute. Information retained for such purposes is limited to what is necessary for the relevant purpose. Account closure, deactivation and permanent deletion are distinct.
Your choices and requests
You can edit available profile details, manage content using the controls provided and change device permissions. Contact support@zeenat.app for privacy requests or questions about information we hold. We assess requests under applicable law and explain any lawful restrictions. Withdrawing a device permission prevents future access covered by that permission; it does not automatically erase information already submitted. Deleting content cannot remove copies independently retained by others, though this does not limit our responsibilities for data we control.
Adults-only service
Zeenat is intended for people aged 18 or older. Users are asked to confirm their age; this is self-declaration, not documentary age or identity verification. We do not intend to collect personal information from children. If you believe a person under 18 has provided information through Zeenat, contact support@zeenat.app so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including restricting access and addressing the information concerned.
Changes to this policy
The published version and effective date appear at the top of this policy. Updates are available at the same address and within the app. Material changes may require additional notice or consent under applicable law; publishing a revised policy alone does not override those requirements or authorize unrelated uses of previously collected information.
